Cedric Blanpain graduated as a Medical Doctor (1995), received his PhD in Medical Sciences (2001) and was board certified in internal medicine (2002) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium. Cedric performed a postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Elaine Fuchs, at the Rockefeller University, New York, USA from 2002 to 2006.
Cedric Blanpain is full professor of Stem Cell and Development Biology and investigator of the WELBIO (Walloon Excellence in Life science and Biotechnology) at the IRIBHM, Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). His research group is studying the mechanism regulating stem cell fate decision during embryonic development, tissue homeostasis and repair as well as the implication of stem cells during cancer initiation and growth.
Cedric Blanpain received several prestigious awards and fellowships including the career development award of the HFSP, EMBO young investigator, ERC starting grant, Outstanding Young Investigator Award of the International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) and is an EMBO member since 2012.
The Belgian FNRS, Fondation Contre Le Cancer, Fond Ithier, Region Wallone, Region Bruxelles Capitale, the Human Science Frontier Program Organization, the EMBO young investigator program, and the European Research Council support his research.
Alexandra Van Keymeulen received a master in Chemistry from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1996). She received a PhD in Chemistry from Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2000. Alexandra joined Henry Bourne Lab (University of California San Francisco, USA) as a postdoctoral fellow from 2002 to 2006.
Alexandra joined the laboratory in 2006 as a postdoctoral fellow and was appointed to a tenure position as Chercheur Qualifié of the FNRS in 2007. She is leading projects on breast cellular hierarchy and on the cells at the origin of breast cancers.
Peggy Sotiropoulou received her BSc in Biology from the University of Athens in 2000. She obtained her PhD in Cancer Immunology from the Medical School of the University of Crete in 2005. Peggy performed a short postdoctoral fellowship in Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Center of Athens until the end of 2006.
Peggy joined the laboratory in 2007 as a postodoctoral fellow and was appointed to a tenured position as chercheur qualifié of the FNRS in 2010. Peggy air max 90 pas cher is studying the mechanisms of genome maintenance in skin stem cells and air max skyline cancer stem cells.
Xionghui Lin obtained his PhD in Comparative Physiology from Uppsala University, Sweden in 2010. After that, he worked in same University as a research associate from 2010 2012. Over the years, he has been working with Hematopoietic Stem Cells as well as Hematopoietic Growth Factors, which control fate decision of blood lineages in invertebrates.
With great interesting in Stem Cell research, Xionghui joined our laboratory in September 2012 as a postdoc fellow, funded by the Belgian FNRS. He is currently studying the transcriptional network involved in the fate determination of multipotent air max femme pas cher cardiovascular progenitor cells during embryonic stem cell differentiation and mouse heart development.
Federico Mauri received his Master degree in Medical biotechnology from the University of Trieste in 2006. He then joined the laboratory of prof. Jürgen Knoblich at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Vienna, studying the mechanisms of asymmetric cell division in Drosophila melanogaster. Federico obtained his PhD in Molecular biology from the University of Vienna in 2011.
After one more year as post doctoral fellow in the Knoblich lab, Federico joined the laboratory in 2013 air max pas cher to study the role of asymmetric cell division in the expansion of the cancer stem stell population and its impact on tumor progression.
Ievgenia Pastushenko graduated as a Medical Doctor in nike air max 2009 at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and was board certified in Dermatology by the Spanish Ministry of Education in 2014.
She received her PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in collaboration with the Translational Cancer Research Unit of Antwerp (Belgium) in 2014.
Ievgenia joined our laboratory in January 2015 and she is studying the mechanisms involved in squamous cell carcinoma initiation and progression.
Manuel Zocco received his Master degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2011 at the University of Pavia.
In November 2011, he joined the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Mario Halic at the Gene Center in Munich, where he studied the molecular basis of silencing and heterochromatin formation in Schizosaccharomyces pombe. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from the Ludwig Maximilians Universitt (LMU) in 2016.
Manuel joined the lab in January 2016 and he is working on skin squamous cell carcinoma initiation and progression.
Audrey Brisebarre graduated from the National air max tn pas cher Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in air max tn Lyon, France, with a MSc in Bioinformatics and Modelling on July 2010.
She received her Master degree in Bioinformatics, Structural Biology and Genomics from Aix Marseille University in 2011. Audrey received her PhD in Genomics and Bioinformatics from Aix Marseille university in december 2014.
